This was a property that had been installed 6 years ago. It had received little to no maintenance. As you can see, the shrubs have completely taken over. The trees also had multiple suckers as well as being poorly pruned. There was also an incredible amount of quack grass and thistle that we had to dig out as well. Quite the mess!

The shrubs have been managed and redefined and the trees have also been cleaned up and the canopies lifted. We also managed to
control the quack grass and thistle problem. A BIG improvement!

This is the alley of the same property. Notice the trees coming through the fence!
Quack grass, dandelions, thistles….a nightmare for any home owner!

After the intense weeding and cleaning up we transplanted Day-lilies that had been thinned from the front garden. I can’t wait to see how it fills out in the spring!
I’ll be posting more photos soon.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the before pictures for the garden below. I can only describe it as the worst case of thistles I have ever encountered on a property.
Everything had gone to seed. Quack grass, thistle, dandelion….it was a veritable forest.
It took several passes, but the weeds were finally under control. I designed the garden with the client, discussing her favorite plants, flowers and colours and what level of maintenance she desired.
We focused on drought tolerant species, ground covers as well as flowers that attracted bees and butterflies. This client really loves pinks
and purples and wanted a “cottage garden” feel. Very excited to see what it looks like this season!

This client had a real jungle of dandelions in her back yard that she didn’t want to use harmful chemical sprays on. She was kind enough to send us some before and after shots of her property. We helped her get rid of her dandelion jungle so she could grow some actual veggies! It took some digging but we got those dandelions out!!
